The soothing tunes of the blues dances in your ears, a Michigan craft cocktail in hand on a warm, sunny day in June. You’re in Downtown Alpena at the Blues Fest! 

Alpena Blues Festival headliner, Thornetta Davis

Since taking the 2020 season off (the year we do not speak of) The 17th Annual Alpena Blues Festival is back to give you something new and unique this year – an all-female lineup of blues musicians “Ladies of the Blues”! Headlining will be the amazingly talented Thornetta Davis, along with Nora Jean Bruso, Tasha Owens with Broken Arrow Blues, Cee Cee Collins, Erin Coburn, and Pretentious Pig.

Spirit of the Blues will be set up along N. 2nd Ave. by the musician tents, where you can purchase craft spirits from regional Michigan distilleries as well as Michigan wineries. Some booths will have reps from their distillery/winery to answer any questions about their craft that you may have, along with signature drinks.

Special shoutout to Eric Peterson, owner/operator/chef of The Fresh Palate and Nucleus Lounge, for setting up Spirit of the Blues (for the 2nd year) to help spread the word about Michigan-made liquors and wines! Fun fact, did you know Nucleus Lounge currently features all Michigan-made liquors?!

**Save the date for Saturday, June 19th as Spirit of the Blues (brought to you by The Fresh Palate/Nucleus Lounge) joins Alpena Blues Fest in downtown Alpena to bring you hand-crafted Michigan spirits during the festival from 2 pm to 8 pm (after 8 pm an outdoor bar will be set up). Doors open at 11 am and music will be playing until midnight.
