  • Located at Mich-e-ke-wis Park
  • View anywhere along the Lake Huron shore, the most popular spots are Starlite Beach and Bay View Park
  • Show begins just after dusk

Thursday, July 4th

HPC Credit Union 4th of July Parade

  • Parade starts at 11 am
  • The parade route will start at the Alpena County Fairgrounds on 11th Avenue, continuing onto Chisholm St., turning onto 2nd Ave. downtown, and ending in the big parking lot just before the NOAA building on Fletcher St.

Starlite Beach Sandcastle Contest sponsored by The Alpena News 

  • Participants will begin at 8 am
  • There are 3 divisions, groups of 1-5 builders, groups of 6 or more builders, and a kids division
  • Judging begins at 3:30 pm

4th of July Cruise In 

  • Classic cars lined up at 1120 US23 North (the former JJ’s Awesome Acres)
  • Begins at 4 pm and will end around 7 pm

107.7 The Bay Free Concerts in the Park featuring The Rock Show

  • Tribute to classic rock at the Band Shell downtown by the marina
  • Begins at 7 pm until 10 pm

Saturday, July 6th

Presque Isle Fireworks 

  • Located at the Presque Isle Harbor
  • Begins around 9:30 pm
